When you are an artist, you should find some places, where you can promote your stuff. I often guest of conventions and fairs for fantasy and roleplaying game and like to meet old friends and fans and new people.
This year I had to choose wisely where to go, cause the roleplaying convention RPC in Germany took place at the same weekend like the new Fantasy Basel.
I had chosen the Fantasy Basel in Switzerland. There were several reasons for participating. First of all was the offer for the stand. A stand with table, 2 chairs, a wall in the back for placing the posters and electric outlet. Second was the first debut in Switzerland and testing the market. Third was…giving a new fair for fantasy a chance to grow!
I’m very happy, that I had chosen this fair and not the RPC… It was a wonderful time. I talked a lot with new people and with some friends. Many people loved my art and praised it. I met other cool artist from Switzerland, Italy and Taiwan who I never met before. I did networking and maybe I’ll get a new job next year….
My canvasprints were sold so fast….so I was sold out at the beginning of the second day. Fascinating. Next time, I’ll do a little more limited prints.
The most of the time I had to chat about my art, had to give my workshops and have to sell things. The time for drawing something was rare. But I did a little sketch and at the last day, I drawed a commission for someone, who wanted a character of Heartstone for his friend. I forgot to photograph the heartstonedrawing, but here is the sketch of the ritualist, I did in the first two days…
